My download link expired. How can I extend it?
I'll happily extend it. Just email me at ryan.binns@gmail.com. I'm a one-man operation, so please allow up to a day for a response, although I can handle most requests within an hour or two.
I'm having trouble downloading the lesson plans. What can I do?
Make sure you're using a desktop computer, either Windows or Mac. You'll have difficulty working with these files on an iPad. The download is a zip file, which needs to be extracted and will produce several folders containing the MS Word files. If you have any trouble, email me at ryan.binns@gmail.com. If I'm unable to resolve your issue, I'm happy to issue a refund.
McAfee says a virus was detected. Is there a virus in your files?
No, there isn't. McAfee Internet Security seems to dislike the zip file for some reason, and this isn't unique to my download. You'll need to temporarily disable it to download and extract the files by following these instructions provided by Garmin.
A few of the lessons seem to be missing content. Is my download incomplete?
No, these omissions are intentional. The goal of these lesson plans is to guide you while you explain all the areas in the CFI-A ACS, but they aren't intended to replace the PHAK or an entire ground school curriculum. All maneuvers and the majority of the tasks have an accompanying full ground lesson, while certain smaller technical subject areas are conveyed sufficiently (in my opinion!) with just an outline and some instructional aids.
Do you have lesson plans for CFII?
Not at the moment, but I'm working on them.
Do you offer ground instruction for CFI candidates?
Yes, sometimes! I mostly focus on in-person instruction in the Orlando, Florida area, but I can do Zoom-based instruction on any subject related to the CFI Initial test. Email me at ryan.binns@gmail.com for details.
